The outer flap of this cap box has lost its surface finish from the lower half but despite this the leather is still in good solid shape. There was a sub-inspector’s mark in this area but only half of it remains. What remains is faint but readable.
The inner flap is in good condition with both ears present. The flap is marked “---OUNG & CO. NEWARK, N. J.” This mark was for Stephen H. Young of Newark, New Jersey.
