The leather of the outer flap shows very light wear and is smooth and supple. The latch tab is present and solid. There is an inspector’s stamp but it is now too faint to read.
The inner flap has some light wear also. Both ears are present. The inner flap also has a maker’s mark of “S. H. YOUNG / NEWARK, N.J.” but only the name “YOUNG” is visible. Someone wrote the initials “T. A. M.” in modern ink under the inner flap. The fleece is present but there is no pick. The box is full of caps. The body is in nice, smooth condition with some surface dirt. Brass finial is present on bottom. The reverse has both belt loops which are in good condition and show signs of use.
