This is a rare opportunity to own an original Confederate percussion cap box.

The leather of this percussion cap box is in good condition overall. The outer flap shows very light crazing and the leather is strong and supple. The leather underneath has a smooth surface. The latch tab surface is similar to the flap surface and has no tears. Tab is stitched to the body.

The inner flap is complete with both ears. Stitching is tight.

The interior of the box does not retain the original fleece lining. The pick is not present. The body of the box is strong and the lead finial is present at bottom.

The reverse has light crazing. There is one wide belt loop which is stitched to the body.

No markings are present.
