US MODEL 1861 .58 CALIBER CARTRIDGE BOX

$1,200.00 SOLD
Originally $1,500.00

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 612-20

Maker mark [inner flap]: "Watertown/Arsenal/1863." Leather is in fine condition and has been retouched to fine black sheen, with chip on top right corner, small scratch on lower corner and light flaking of finial strap. The colors of two inner two flaps are lightly faded, though the "Watertown Arsenal 1863" stamping stands out sharp and clear. Stitching is excellent. Rear loops in excellent condition, as are rivets, and under finial and roller buckles. Both tins present. All in all a superb box that, while missing its plate, could easily take one. Will make an extremely handsome display piece either way.
