The overall condition of the leather is very good. The surface is mostly clean and smooth. The outer flap has some light crazing and minor wear along the edges. Latch tab is solid.
Inner flap is also in nice shape. It has both ears and a faint maker’s mark in three lines “E. GAYLORD / CHICOPEE / MASS.” Inside the box there is no fleece but the nipple pick is present.
The body of the box shows some light edge wear but is otherwise fine. Brass finial present at bottom.
Reverse has both belt loops which are solid but show wear. Carved into the body of the box between the loops are the initials “TO.” [AD]
