Leather box meant for holding percussion caps is marked on outer flap with, “USN”. Leather is supple with light crazing and scuffs in areas. Latch tab has no tears and hooks onto brass finial. Inner flap has both ears. Original fleece lining and pick are not present. All stitching is tight.
Inner flap is marked, “E. METZGER, PHILA” and, “H.H. HARTZELL, SUB INSPECTOR, U.S. ORD. DEPT.”.
Reverse has two stitched and riveted belt loops. [AD]
