Leather box to hold cartridges features a brass, “NG” and brass frame on the flap. Leather is strong and supple with light crazing all over, and heavier crazing on the loop. Latch tab is missing but brass finial is present. Reverse has single wide loop which was stitched to the box. All stitching is tight with the exception of loop on reverse, which has come loose. Box measures approx. 3 ¼” x 5” x 1 ½”. Interior retains the wooden block with holes bored for cartridges. No maker’s mark or stampings. Flap has a 3 ½” tear at the top, just above where loop is sewn.
