Outer flap marking: (oval encircled) “R.H. White/U.S. Ord. Dept/ Sub-Inspector.” Inner flap maker mark: “S.H. Young/ & Co/Newark/ N.J.” Smooth supple leather exhibits slight cracking of the internal flap and the outer finial strap. All stitching perfect. Retains clean inner fleece and pick tool. Exhibits light cracking of inner flap and outer finial strap, with verdigris around reverse belt loop rivets and lower finial attachment. Else near fine, and handsome. In all, a splendid cap box.
