“Watervliet/Arsenal” marking. 3RD pattern (1879) box for .45-70 caliber cartridges. With oval New Jersey brass plate on front flap, along with reverse belt loops, brass reinforced finial strap, 20 interior linen cartridge loops, and brass bar flap hinge at the bottom. Leather is solid and supple, while exhibiting light cracking and slight flaking. Pristine interior. Bright New Jersey plate displays light dings. Else VG. Solid New Jersey Militia collectible.
