Leather box to hold cartridges. Smaller-sized (5" wide x 4.5" high) black bridal leather box, with “USN” outer flap marking, and inner flap marking, “NAVY YARD / PHIL'A / 1863". Leather has minimal wear with smooth surfaces and only minor cracks and "rubs". Latch tab is present but end is broken off. Inner percussion cap pouch has been removed. Stitching is uniformly excellent. The cartridge tin is missing.  [jet]
