CIVIL WAR CARBINE SOCKET

$75.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 998-824

Round leather socket with strap and buckle. This was attached to the saddle and held the barrel of the rider’s carbine and kept it from swinging back and forth.

Leather is in very nice condition. Iron buckle retains much of its finish and the tip of the strap is clearly marked “METZGER-PHILA.”

One of the nicer examples we have seen.  [ad]
