Maker mark stamp on inner flap: “Baker/N-Y/ & McKenney”. Leather exhibits wear round the edges of outer flap and along the bottom, as well as flaking, most notably on the reverse. Front flap finial strap remains intact though weak. Inner flaps leather VG. Tins clean and solid. Roller buckles missing, lower finial sold and intact, as are reverse belt straps. Box plate face smooth and unblemished, with medium coppery patina, attached with linen twine. In Good-minus condition overall, the attractive US plate turns this box into a fairly solid, low-budget display piece.   [JP]
