PATTERN 1860 BRITISH CARTRIDGE BOX

$1,250.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 1000-562

This English cartridge box is constructed of black bridle leather with the exception of a buff leather closing tab. Complete with inner and outer flaps, Iron roller buckles, and wide belt loops.

There is no cartridge tin.  This pattern did not have the integral cap pouch. No maker’s stamp.  These were imported during the war by the Confederacy as well as several Northern states. All stitching is strong and leather is pliable.  One of the “belt loops” attached to a roller buckle strap is broken.  Otherwise, this box is in lightly used condition showing wear on the top of the outer flap.

A solid example of the British style of cartridge box.   [jet]
