This is a Civil War-era percussion cap pouch. The leather shows very light wear overall. This pattern has the “square” outer flap with closing tab sewn to the underside. The latch tab is complete and unbroken. The interior flap has both “ears” firmly sewn in place and is clearly stamped “SICKLES & CO / ST. LOUIS”. Some fleece remains. Bottom has brass finial. Both narrow belt loops remain in place on back and are stitched and riveted in place. All stitching is strong and intact.
A complete Civil War cap pouch. [jet]
