The leather on this box is in good condition but is slightly stiff.
The outer flap has surface crazing from use. The corners show heavier wear from opening and closing. There are no visible markings. The latch tap shows some crazing also but it is solid.
The interior of the box is in nice condition showing hardly any wear. The bottom of the box has a brass pear-shaped finial. The reverse of the box has both belt loops and both show some crazing. One loop is held by a rivet and stitching while the other is just sewn. Both loops show signs of use.
The underside of the latch tab and the underside of the outer flap show some white residue from a preservative. [ad]
