.44 CALIBER HOLSTER WITH U.S. BOX PLATE

$495.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: M25129

Very nice condition leather holster with flap. Leather is still pliable with some flaking and wear in the usual locations; on the fold of the flap and on the belt loop. All stitching is tight. Belt loop is stitched and riveted and is a single 3” wide loop. The double closure tab appears to be a period replacement that is riveted to the flap. Brass finial is present. Most interesting is the US cartridge box plate that is affixed to the flap. It has definitely been on this holster for a long time! The straight edge of the holster measures approx. 12” long. There is no evidence that there was ever a “cap” closing the bottom of this holster.

This is a very interesting and eye-catching leather accoutrement for any collection. [JET]
