Pair of large leather saddle holsters, 17” in length, 6” in width across the top. Obviously designed to accommodate either the new Colt dragoon revolvers of the time or earlier flintlocks such as the M1836 Johnson model used in the Mexican War. Holster are of black leather adorned with 2.5” brass cups at the tip, and matching diamonds stitched on each outer flap. The leather is stiff and cracking throughout, and the holster connecting strip is torn half way through. Both holsters have finial pegs but one finial strap is torn at the tip. Else VG. An unusual and formidable holster set. Fine display piece.   [jp]
