This in an original bridle leather scabbard for the Model 1855 socket bayonet. Body measures 19 ½” long and is closed with a brass scabbard tip and finial. A 2 ½” wide belt loop / frog is attached by two copper rivets. Stitching on the body is tight and unbroken; some stitching on the frog has separated. Black bridle leather is strong and the frog is still flexible.  [jet]
