Silver metal 2^nd Corps Badge with an engraved front and an “L” bar pin on the back. The face of the badge has a chased border with delicate engraving at center that reads “FROM CHARLIE TO HATTIE.” Engraving is very nicely done and has all the attendant swirls and lines as found on quality engraving.

Reverse has an “L” shaped pin with a brass mount. The “half-moon” catch is made of brass and also has a brass base. There is some light surface dirt consistent with age and storage.

Item has no maker’s marks or hallmarks and meas. approx. 1.25 x 1.25 inches.

There is little doubt that Charlie was a soldier or veteran and Hattie his sweetheart or wife.
