A very superb example pair of everyday women’s high-top leather Booties. These are of the front opening lace (tongue) versions containing 28 total small brass (14 each side) eyelets. The upper most openings of the mouth of these boots are attractively decorated with a scalloped cut tooled design. Other period features are a separately applied “Chisel- Pointed” shaped toe cap with a sewn decorative curled design set in. The inner lining looks to be of an off- white cotton or linen fabric.

On the underside, the heel is composed of layered or stacked sections of leather that are nailed applied and tapered cut, which gives the heel its distinctive look. The sole is applied by a series of wooden pegs.  A single row located on the upper front section and a double row at the instep section. There is very little, if any wear to the heels or on the soles itself. The body is composed of chocolate colored leather and exhibits a very fine type” Pebble- Grain” surface. There is what appears to be a number 7 stamped into each sole at the very front nose (Size??} The overall condition of this pair shows some surface scuffing (Mostly at the toes) and at the counter area near the lower rear. All stitching is still tight on the rear seams and on the front toe caps as well.

If you collect period Women’s clothing or regalia, you would know how scarce everyday boots such as these could have survived the test of time. Now’s the time to advance your collection.
