A stunning dress made from lightweight iridescent green/black silk taffeta.  The machine sewn darted bodice has a round neckline, 3-piece back, and is lined in lightweight natural-colored linen. The full open coat sleeves have horizontal pleating at the elbows. The scalloped overlay and the lower edge of the sleeves are accented with black glass bead trim.  The sleeves are lined with brown glazed cotton.  Narrow piping finishes the neckline, armscyes, and waistline. The bodice closes with brass hooks-and-eyes.

The unlined hand-sewn skirt has directional pleats facing the center front and back. There is a box pleat where the pleats change direction at the center front and each side. The skirt opening is in the center front.  The lower edge of the skirt is finished with a deep brown glazed cotton hem facing and green wool hem braid.
