Gathered bodice features a round neckline with a 1" standing collar. The lightweight darted muslin lining has a V-neckline and is attached to the fabric at the back neckline only. The lining closes with hooks-and-eyes.  Functional buttonholes were added to the bodice fabric, but there is no evidence buttons were ever attached. The bodice is finished with a 1½" deep waistband piped on the lower edge only. The waistband was cut on the lengthwise grain; the pattern of the fabric on the waistband is perpendicular to the pattern of the fabric on the bodice.  There is a hanger loop at the center back of the waistband.

The lined coat sleeves are very full at the elbow and pleated into the armscye and are finished with piping at the wrist. The jockey is lined and is trimmed with a multi-colored Jacquard braid woven with pink and purple flowers and a scalloped fringed edge.
