French made field glasses are leather wrapped brass. Leather is mostly intact but has some light crazing and is peeling in a few places. Optics are good but a little cloudy.
Maker’s mark reads, “LEMAIRE FABT, PARIS”.
Original leather case has some light crazing and surface dirt, but is strong and stitching is tight. Case is lined in purple velvet which has faded and worn in places. Lining is peeling off at the crease where lid folds. Original clasp is firmly attached and fully functions. Strap is missing but ends are still present and sewn on each side of the case.
Field glasses measure 6 ¾” high x 5” across at the widest point, Case measures 6 ¾” high x 6”wide across at the top.
