$150.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 734-18

This is a very nicely carved walnut wall shelf made to commemorate the Battle of Bunker Hill.  The central figure is the Bunker Hill monument which was erected between 1827 and 1843.  An eagle surmounts the obelisk with pairs of flags and cannons flanking.  “1775” is stamped into the arch that surrounds all.  Many other details adorn the piece.  There is a hinged shelf and shelf support. The hinges are hand-made of wire; very interesting.  Old varnished finish.  Walnut stock is 3/8” thick.  Measures just over 20” tall x 10 ½” wide.  Shelf is 10 ¼” x 5 ½”.  A very classic piece of old folk art.  [jet]
