English Delftware tin-glazed pottery jar features the Latin medical name, “S PAPAV ER “, in a cartouche label flanked by cherubs, flowers and shell. This was for a syrup of opium and poppy. Jar displays very light surface cracks and chips at the foot rim, top rim and spout, which are typical and acceptable with collectors because of use and age.

Measures 7 ¾” high x 4 ¾” at the base.  [sm]
