Item Code: 742-48

Lovely gold silk brocade evening bodice features off-the-shoulder neckline, triple darts, and short sleeves. The waistline is pointed at the center front and center back.  The bodice laces closed at the center back with 17 pairs of very tiny hand sewn eyelets; the original gold lacing cord with brass aiglets is intact. The bodice is lined with glazed cotton with boning each dart, the side seams, the lower portions of the curved back seams, and next to the eyelets in the back.  A linen twill tape waist stay is attached to the inside of the bodice at the waist.

The neckline is accented with box-pleated silk ruching. Threads indicate a net tucker was once attached.  A 2⅜" wide woven satin striped ribbon with scalloped edges trims the sleeves. The ribbon is pleated in opposite directions along the edges; a twisted gold cord holds the pleats in place.  Tiny piping at the neckline, armscyes, and waistline.
