Large white ironstone tapered water pitcher with relief motifs of wheat, clovers and thistles located around the top mouth area and running down the handle to the terminus of the handle’s base. Located on the base is the transfer printed logo crest reading PEARL IRONSTONE CHINA TURNER & TOMKINSON. This firm dates from 1860-1872.

Originally this pitcher was intended to be used with a washbasin of the same decoration design. Of note, this particular ironstone pattern has been excavated from period steamer wrecks and sunken ship cargos as well. This specimen is in excellent condition, but does have a tight 1 ½” running hairline crack near the spout area. Nice period example.  [tb]
