Box contains seventeen 1.50 inch high hand painted pieces. Figures are divided into eleven Union Zouaves that represent the 5th New York “Duryea’s Zouaves.” Each figure wears a turban with dark blue jackets with red tombeaux, red wide trousers and white gaiters. Each also wears a knapsack with blanket roll. Four are in the firing position with another seven in an “ORDER ARMS” standing position. The six Confederate zouaves represent the Louisiana Tigers. They wear a red fez with red jackets trimmed in black with white trousers with black stripes. Each wears a knapsack. Three are in a firing position and three are at “OREDER ARMS.” All figures are in original condition.
The box has the original cardboard insert with cut slits to accommodate the base of each figure and hold them in place. Box lid is orange with a white riband that reads “S.A. SCULPTURED MODELS” with the SAE logo in the upper corner. Box is in used but good condition with some areas of sun fading to the color of the box exterior. [ad]
