RICHARDS PATENT KNIFE, FORK AND SPOON SET

$225.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 465-43

This is one of the more popular knife, fork and spoon combinations purchased and carried by soldiers during the war. This set consists of a knife with a crimped handle and a separate piece with a spoon on one end and a fork on the other crimped in the center. When not in use this second piece slides into the handle of the knife while the knife blade slides through the crimped central section of the spoon/fork. The knife is stamped “W. H. RICHARDS, PATENT JULY 25, 1861, Boston” in three lines. There is some light wear and discoloration on the surfaces consistent with use.
