Gold plated pocket watch style locket with plain stem and ring. Locket meas. approx. 1.50 inches across.
Each face is engraved with a flower on a stippled background. At center of the flower on the face are the initials “I. P. M.” while at center of the reverse flower is an engraved scene of a large house.
Opening the locket reveals a tintype of a woman on one side and a soldier on the other. The woman wears a dark dress with light vertical stripes. The Union soldier facing here wears a dark frock coat. Both images have good clarity and contrast. Both images have minor edge discolorations.
Attached to the ring on the stem is a piece of sky-blue ribbon with a white border tied into a bow. [AD]
