Silver circular brooch meas. approx. 1.75 inches across with a notched edge all the way around. At three of the four points of the compass are serif looking punch marks. The pin to attach the brooch to clothing is also present and in working order.

Attached to the item is an old tag that reads “IROQUOIS 1760 ‘ROUND’ BROOCH. EARLY DESIGN” and “SIMPLE TYPE IS TYPICAL OF THOSE MADE BY THE IROQUOIS THEMSELVES 1700-1800.”

A small document that comes with the item says the piece is from an “old Detroit private museum.”  [ad]
