Vintage packet of sewing needles, with over 15 original needles present. Needles are in great shape, with no rust. Outside of packet is marked, “H MILWARD & SONS, PATENT HELIX, NEEDLES, TAPESTRY, 19/24, J. E. MILWARD, SOLE AGENT, 1857”.  Inner fold is marked, “MANUFACTURED, & WARRENTED BY, H MILWARD & SONS, WASHLORD NEEDLE MILLS, ENGLAND”. Inside of packet, on the pocket that holds the needles, is marked, “USE CLARK’S TRADE ONT MARK, SPOOL COTTON, IT IS THE BEST”.

Henry Milward & Sons was well known as makers of good quality sewing needles, and at one point was the largest manufacturer of its type in the world.

This is a very collectable item as it is rare to find original packages with the contents intact.
