Oval image on trimmed 5 3/8” x 7” mount. Excellent condition. 2/3 length standing view wearing double breasted frock coat, officer’s sash, belt with rectangular buckle, and sword. Medical insignia on hat is blurred but appears to be a laurel wreath with “M S” at center. No photographer’s marks. Typed biographical info attached on reverse.

Isaac D. Knight was a resident of Philadelphia, PA when he enlisted as a Surgeon on 11/7/61. Commissioned into Field & Staff, 91st PA. On 1/19/64 he was promoted to Assistant Surgeon and commissioned into US Volunteers Medical Staff. Promoted to Surgeon on 6/30/64; Lt. Colonel by Brevet on 10/6/65. Mustered out 11/10/65. Knight died on 1/13/67.
