Image show approx. 75 members of the local GAR Post of Hanover, Pennsylvania posed behind two artillery pieces and two iron plaques that describe the battle of Hanover which took place during the Gettysburg Campaign on June 30, 1863.
The members are formed in line with the Post officers out front. Many of the members wear GAR kepis and uniforms as well as membership badges and ribbons.
Visible behind the group is a wonderful Victorian style water fountain with little cherubs supporting multiple reservoirs at different levels. Also in the background are several buildings and businesses.
Image is very clear with great contrast. There is some surface dirt and staining on the mount but the image is excellent. Image is housed in its original wooden frame with wood backing. Frame shows light to average wear and meas. approx. 19.50 x 13.50 inches. The actual image size is approx. 15.25 x 9.00 inches. [ad]
