Framed photograph meas. approx. 15.25 x 13.25 inches. Actual photo size is 9.25 x 7.50 inches and shows a large group of people in the street in front of a brick building. The focal point is a group of approx. 50 or so GAR veterans. At front are 7 men in GAR uniforms holding muskets at the position of “PARADE REST.” These men are flanked by two others armed with swords. Just behind them is another uniformed member holding a large US flag while the rest of the members are gathered behind. Some members wear kepis and uniforms while some wear dark suits and bowler hats.

The image is very clear and clean. Contrast is excellent. The mat is from the original photographer and is marked HOFFMAN’S STUDIO… HANOVER, PA.

The fame is modern and in good condition.

Attached to the back of the frame is a Xerox copy of this image that appeared in a newspaper. The caption read “MEMORIAL DAY- (DECORATION DAY) 1900: PICTURED HERE AND ASEMBLY OF GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC AND VETERANS, FAMILIES AND FRINEDS GATHERED IN FRONT OF THE OPERA HOUSE ON WEST CHESTNUT ST., HANOVER, PA.
