Image shows a young woman seated at a table. She wears a dark stripped dress with white lace collar and undersleeves. Her cheeks are tinted pink as are the cuffs of her sleeves. She wears a cameo on a necklace which has been tinted pink also.
Image is clear and clean with good contrast. Mat is marked “FROM THEO. EVERS, 606 ARCH ST., PHILA.”
Image is housed in a wonderful period frame with a rope border and raised floral decorations at top, bottom and each side. Item meas. approx.9.75 x 12.00 inches.
Attached to the back of the frame lining is an old period label written in ink that reads “CATHERINE A. RHOADES DUNN / WEDDING PICTURE / SEPTEMBER 16, 1859.” Then in a different hand and in more modern ink is “MOTHER OF WM. R. DUNN.” Lining is separated at top and taped in place. [ad]
