Oval photograph on oval mount in an oval frame. Image measures 6” x 8”. Photographer’s mark on front, “From Larkin’s Eighth & Arch St. Phila”. Subject wears knee high boots, dark trousers, vest and the distinctive jacket worn by the unit. Holds a Model 1840 Cavalry Sabre at his side. Also wears a forage cap with M1851 Cavalry insignia on top. Wears a two-piece interlocking belt plate. Hilt of saber, buckle, insignia & buttons are tinted gold.  [ss]
