CDV album has brown leather cover with gold and silver embossed floral design on the front. Leather is in good condition, with some wear all over, but especially on the edges and corners. The leather cover on the spine is completely gone and so both the front and back covers are loose. Vellum lining on inside of front cover. All pages are present and intact. The edges of the pages are gold gilt which has retained its brightness. The album closes with a decorative gold colored metal clasp which is still firmly attached.

Album contains 61 images. There are a variety of men, women and children of all ages. Many of the pages have names written on the borders. Men are in civilian attire. There are individuals as well as families posing together, and a post-mortem image of a baby. There is a vintage Christmas card and a dressmaker’s card.

Family names include Dennison, Palen, Middleton, Meade, Wilson and others. Backmarks include such locations as Rochester, Geneva, Albion & Binghamton, NY.

Album measures approx. 8” x 6” x 2”.

This is a great album for a collector of civilian images.
