CDV album has brown leatherette cover with embossed design on the front and back. Leatherette is in good condition, with some wear all over, especially on the edges and corners. Cover is loose, but binding is tight.
Album has a printed vellum lining on inside of front and back covers. All pages are present and intact. The edges of the pages are gold gilt which has retained its brightness. The album closes with two decorative gold colored metal clasps which are still firmly attached.
Album contains 30 images. There is space for 40 images. There are a variety of men, women and children of all ages. Men are in civilian attire. These images are mostly of individuals, but some have family members posed together. Backmarks checked are from New York.
Album measures approx. 5” x 6” x 2”.
This is a great album for a collector of Civil War era and post -war civilian images. [sl]
