Post-war bust view in coat and bow tie. Printed on the bottom border of the mount is, “JOHN W. EVARDON, CO. D”. Photographer’s imprint on reverse taking up entire mount – E. M. White. / _____ H. / Artistic Photography”. Name partially obscured by piece of lined paper affixed to reverse with handwritten inscription – “Keene 71 terrace St / john W. Evardon / Co D. 2nd Regt N.H.V”.

Overall good condition; light soiling around edges. Minor damage/paper loss along side and bottom edges.

Born in 1839, John W. Evardon was a 22 year old resident of Gilsum, NH when he enlisted as a private on 9/9/61. Mustered into Co. D, 91st NH on 9/17/61. Discharged for disability on 6/19/63 at Concord. Died in 1925 and is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery in Keene, NH.   [ld]
