Image shows a young soldier seated on the arm of a rustic looking chair. He wears a dark 5-button sack coat with fold-down collar and light trousers. He also wears a campaign hat creased fore and aft in the crown with the regimental number “29” over the Company letter “I.”

Behind him is a painted backdrop of a pillar and vase of flowers.

Bottom of mount is embossed “HOLMES, FORT SHERIDAN, ILLS.”

Reverse is stamped “MRS. D. La FLEUR.”
