This CDV from Alexander Gardner's studio depicts an Elk Horn Chair given to President Lincoln. The CDV's front, which exhibits some foxing, reads "Entered according to Act of Congress by Seth Kinman, in the year 1864, in the Clerk's Office of the District Court for the District of Columbia / ELK HORN CHAIR, / Presented to Pres't Lincoln by Seth Kinman, California Hunter." The back of the card exhibits an outline of the capitol and reads "ALEX GARDNER / Photographer to the Army of the Potomac. / GALLERIES 511 SEVENTH STREET AND 332 PENNSYLVANIA AV. / PUBLISHED BY PHILP & SOLOMONS. WASHINGTON D.C."  Overall fair to good condition; has a ¾” long horizontal tear extending inward from lower right edge of mount.
