Spooner’s/ Picture Palace./ Foots Block, Corner Main & State Sts./ Springfield, Mass.”.  Image depicts a  set of  two-story, brick  industrial building  behind white picket fence, Clear image, though lightly faded, with “Ames Manufacturing Co’s Works” written in tiny inked longhand on the lower margin. Else VG.

The Ames company was America’s foremost Civil War sword manufacturer, the edged-weapon equivalent of manufacturer  Samuel Colt’s company for revolvers and small arms. Solid  collectible.
