A close look shows that there is insignia on the crown of the cap but the angle is such that it cannot be made out. The soldier stands erect facing the camera with both arms by his side. He wears a dark frock coat and matching military vest and trousers.

Image is very clear with excellent contrast.

Reverse is blank but does have an orange 2 cent tax stamp.  [ad]
