This is an often published view showing the home of the then President-elect Abraham Lincoln in Springfield, Illinois. A man and boy are posed on the corner of 8th Street and East Capitol Ave while another man and boy pose in the front yard of the house. They can be seen just below the window on the far right corner of the house. It is known that the pair is Lincoln and one of his young sons.
Image is clear with good contrast. Paper and mount have some light surface dirt.
Reverse has caption that reads “THE LATE RESIDENCE OF PRESIDENT LINCOLN, SPRINGFIELD, ILL.” There is also a blue 2 cent tax stamp affixed to the reverse.
