This CDV by E. & H.T. Anthony is a composite of multiple images of Union Generals connected with the cavalry or who led famous raids. Altogether there are 12 images on the card.
Across the top of the card the first row has William W. Averell, Hugh Judson Kilpatrick and August Kautz. The second row has David Mc Murtrie Gregg, Philip Sheridan and George Armstrong Custer. The third row has Abel Streight, Benjamin H. Grierson and James H. Wilson. The fourth and last row consists of George Stoneman, Wesley Merritt and Alfred T. A. Torbert. At very bottom of the card is “UNION CAVALRY LEADERS AND RAIDERS.”
Photo surface has some light surface soiling. Contrast is good. Reverse has photographer’s imprint as mentioned above.
