CDV is a full standing view of James A. Beakes. He is wearing a dark colored civilian frock coat, a light colored vest, and light colored trousers with a stripe down the leg.

Reverse does not have a photographer’s imprint, but does have a green tax stamp present.

Image is clear and the contrast is good. Surface has some light dirt from age.

James E. Beakes enlisted at the age of 21, on August 7, 1862 at Goshen, NY as a Corporal. On September 5, 1862 he mustered into Co. “E”, 124th New York Infantry. He was mustered out on June 15, 1865 at Hart’s Island, New York Harbor. He was promoted to Sergeant on April 1, 1863 and was reduced to a Private on November 1, 1864.
