CDV is a chest-up view of a gentleman wearing a dark colored frock coat and vest, with a white shirt and cravat.
Reverse has a photographer’s imprint which reads, “F. GUTEKUNST 704 & 706 ARCH ST. PHILADELPHIA”. A green tax stamp is present. In pencil is written, “23RD PA CO. B, A.G. BIGNELL, T.W.S”.
Image is clear and the contrast is good. Surface has some light dirt from age. Image has yellowed with age.
Attilla G. Bignall was a 21 year old resident of Philadelphia when he enlisted on 7/17/61 as a Private; on 8/2/61 he mustered into Co. B, 23rd PA. Mustered out 9/8/64 at Philadelphia. [sm/ld]
