CDV is a sitting image of John Wilkes Booth. He is wearing a dark colored jacket and trousers with a white shirt and cravat. He holds a book under his arm. Image has some light spotting and yellowing from age, but is clear with good contrast.

Image is matted and housed in gold frame. Frame measures approx. 8 ½” x 9 5/8”. Frame is in very good condition. Reverse has wire for hanging purposes.

John Wilkes Booth (May 10, 1838 – April 26, 1865) was an American actor and assassin, who murdered President Abraham Lincoln at Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C. on April 14, 1865. Booth was a member of the prominent 19th-century Booth theatrical family from Maryland and, by the 1860s, was a well-known actor. He was also a Confederate sympathizer.  [sm]
