Full standing image of William Roberts. He is wearing a dark colored frock coat with Corporal’s stripes, dark vest, lighter colored trousers and brogans. His hand rests next to his forage cap on a podium he is posing by.
Mount was clipped at the corners. Bottom of mount is labeled with photographer’s names, “J.W. DRYER / J.W. BRISBEN”. Reverse has photographer’s imprint that reads, “DRYER & BRISBEN, PHOTOGRAPHERS, COR. WASHINGTON & TIPTON STS. COLUMBUS, IND.”
Image is clear with good contrast.
William Roberts was a resident of White Creek, IN. He enlisted on September 28, 1864 as a Corporal and was mustered into Co. “D”, 140th Indiana Infantry. He was mustered out on July 11, 1865. [sl]
